St. Patty’s Day has us eyeing spring, but we’re not done with winter just yet. Dry, cold air can wreak havoc on the loveliest of faces. To combat irritated winter skin you need to moisturize. A great way to do that is to use a hydrating mask once a week. Even acne-prone skin needs moisture, as dry, flakey skin can actually lead to more breakouts. If you’re pregnant, you may actually be experiencing both issues at once. If so, than this DIY avocado honey green mask is perfect for you.
Whip up an Avocado-Yogurt-Honey Mask. It is easy and chock full of blemish fighting but nourishing, moisture-rich ingredients. Avocado hydrates your skin with healthy unsaturated fat without clogging pores. It also brightens dull skin and sooths inflammation with Vitamins E, C, and B vitamins. Yogurt also adds moisture while combating acne-prone skin with lactic acid (a natural exfoliant). Honey is a natural humectant that contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
You need:
1/4 Ripe avocado
1 Teaspoon of plain organic yogurt
1/2 Teaspoon of honey
Wash and pit avocado. Mash up or put in the blender. Stir in yogurt and honey until you create a paste-like substance without lumps. Apply the your green avocado honey yogurt mask to your face for 10-15 minutes or until dry. Wash off with warm water. Feel the Glow!

First things first. Do not eat a large meal before going for a prenatal massage or you will suffer indigestion – no fun and ruins the point of a relaxing treat for yourself. Also, afterward, drink lots of H2O.
How to lie down on the table: You shouldn’t lie face down or face up. Face down squishes the belly. Flat on your back decreases blood flow too much. Soooo, the best position is lie on your side with a wedge or full length body pillow.
Let’s face it. You’re carrying a lot of extra weight around. This puts pressure on your neck, shoulders, back, even your abdominal muscles. Prenatal massage can help ease these pains, along with joint pain, sinus pain, headaches, even insomnia. Massage is known to decrease stress levels, increase blood and lymphatic flow, increase oxygen flow and even stimulate endorphins. It may also reduce swelling in the hands and feet as long as that swelling is not related to preeclampsia.
On a mental level, getting a message can give you the emotional support and nurturing touch you NEED as you move through this exciting but sometimes overwhelming process of creating new life. Don’t forget – you’re doing a REALLY big thing here – you are creating life. You need as much nurturing and caring for yourself as for your unborn child.

To promote bone health, your pregnancy diet should include the following vitamins and minerals.
Calcium: Calcium is key in the building of new bone which occurs every day of your life.
Vitamin D: Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption.
Magnesium: Magnesium is necessary to convert vitamin D into its active form, so that calcium can be absorbed by your bones. Magnesium also helps in the process of drawing calcium out of your blood and soft tissues and back into your bones.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an essential building block of collagen, the structural material for bone, skin, blood vessels and other tissue.
Vitamin A: Vitamin A is an essential, fat-soluble vitamin that supports growth and remodeling of bone. Pregnant women need extra vitamin A for fetal growth and tissue maintenance.
Vitamin K: Vitamin K improves bone density. It helps plug calcium and other important minerals into your bone formation.
Omega 3: Omega 3 helps build bone density and a diet rich in omega 3 helps prevent osteoporosis.
